For the first time in January 2019, Singapore Post released a new annual series of eSAM-type variable value stamps dedicated to the Chinese zodiac. The following year, to coincide with the start of the Chinese calendar cycle, the initial design dedicated to the first animal in the series was issued. Twenty twenty three is the Year of the Rabbit, the fourth animal in the Chinese zodiac.
Following on from the first design, which introduced the series (see article, published in VARIABLE 51), new issues were subsequently released in 2020 dedicated to the Year of the Rat (article and VARIABLE 56), in 2021 the Year of the Ox (article and VARIABLE 60) & in 2022 the Year of the Tiger (article and VARIABLE 64).
