Since 2022, the Correos philatelic service has been attending some of the main festive events held throughout the country. It is an excellent and at the same time necessary exercise in marketing and promotion, not always with the expected success, but enabling the philatelic service, away from its usual working environment, to make itself known to a much wider audience, in a festive and favourable atmosphere.
With this in mind, a few days after the EXFILNA in Teruel (article in preparation), the philatelic service travelled to Sevilla during the April Fair, in the southwest of Spain.
Correos has previously set up stands for the Fallas in Valencia (article and VARIABLE 64), Madrid Pride (article and VARIABLE 66), the Sanfermines in Pamplona (article and VARIABLE 66), and the Falles in Andorra (article).
The 2023 Fair was held (be assured that in Sevilla this means a “real” celebration) from April Sunday 23rd to Saturday 29th. It is an incredible week of colour, joy and fun. Although the fiesta invades the city, Sevillians and visitors by the hundreds of thousands gather every day in the Real de la Feria, a large fairground set up with streets lined with festive stalls and processions of horse riders and horse-drawn carriages.
