Throughout 2022 and 2023 the Correos philatelic service attended the main festive events held throughout the country, presenting issues of ‘traditional’ and variable value stamps commemorating these events.
Without doubt, the central location of the main post offices in those cities enabled philatelic stands to be set up in promotionally excellent locations … although usually not very widely publicised. Over two days, the philatelic service markets and sells these issues and associated philatelic products to visitors of which many are philatelists, but also to tourists and local visitors attracted by the festive stamp issues.
The Correos philatelic service has set up stands for the Fallas in Valencia (article and VARIABLE 64), Madrid Pride (article and VARIABLE 66), the Sanfermines in Pamplona (article and VARIABLE 66), the Falles in Andorra (article), the Feria de Abril in Seville (article in preparation) and La Mercè in Barcelona.
And the variable value stamps issues have been the main focus of all these temporary philatelic events. While both the ‘traditional’ stamps and the ATM designs are available through orders or subscriptions from the philatelic service, some variants of the ATMs can only be acquired from the actual equipment set up on these temporary stands.
